The Incredible Tupac Shakur

15 years ago today, Hip-Hop lost it's brightest, most controversial and dynamic star of his time, Tupac Amaru Shakur. 2Pac's uncanny ability to scream, "Fuck the World" in one song while trying to save it in the next left critics puzzled and fans mesmerized. He was a polarizing figure that gave an entire generation a voice. When you listened to Pac, you felt like he was speaking to you, speaking to your struggle. He created a connection with his audience that has superseded time, space and celebrity. You felt you could touch him.

More after the jump...

2Pac's First Release: "Brenda's Got a Baby"

Musically, 2Pac's storytelling ability was unparalleled. His lyrics and music have stood the test of time because of his ability to outline every facet of the human condition with style and finesse. If you wanted to party, maybe you played "2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted." Need a song to sex it to? You were playing, "Temptations." Feeling conscious? "Holler if You Hear Me" was probably banging out your radio. Angry? He had you feeling like, man, "Fuck the World" and "Pour Out a Little Liquor" for your homie that's gone. It's no surprise that after his death the music kept coming and that 15 years later he's still considered one of the greatest MCs ever.

Rapper, Actor, Poet, Activist, Intellectual, LEGEND... there will never be another Tupac Shakur. R.I.P.

Pac's Last Release from his last official studio album, Don Killuminati, "Hail Mary"
